Trelas | Leash

Voltando às trelas…
NÃO interessa se o seu “cão é amigo” ou se o seu cão “só quer brincar”, se o seu cão é mais pequeno ou se é amarelo. Do outro lado pode estar um cão reactivo, ou um cão assustado ou um cão que não quer mais amigos, não quer brincar ou ATÉ estar um cão com um dono que não o consegue controlar.
Pode ainda estar um cão em treino ou um cão em trabalho.

Tenha respeito pelo outro cão e pelo outro dono.
Se andar com o cão solto, prenda-o quando vir outro cão à trela. 
Se andar com o cão à trela não o deixe aproximar-se antes de confirmar com o dono que o pode fazer, mas by the way, não é a maneira ideal de apresentar dois cães.

Back to the leashes …

It DOES NOT matter if your “dog is friend” or if your dog “just wants to play” if your dog is smaller or if it is yellow. On the other side may be a reactive dog, or a scared dog or a dog that does not want more friends, does not want to play or TO BE a dog with an owner who can not control it.

There may still be a training dog or a working dog.

Have respect for the other dog and the other owner. If walking with the dog off leash, put it when you see another dog. If you’re walking with your dog on the leash dont let him approach other dogs before confirming with the owner that you can do it, but by the way, it’s not the ideal way to introduce two dogs.

Cães & crianças | Dogs & Kids

Frequentemente observo a interacção de crianças com cães, muitas vezes da própria família, outras vezes cães de amigos ou familiares… É assustador ver a desinformação que existe de todos (tanto familiares como os tutores dos próprios animais). 
Seria muito importante, e muitos acidentes seriam evitados se todos os adultos que lidam com cães conhecessem a escala de agressividade do cão, com os vários e inúmeros sinais que este dá de desconforto ANTES de rosnar (sim rosnar está no topo da tabela) assim como pensassem sobre os vários comportamentos que estão na imagem.

Esta imagem foi criada pela Dra. Sophia Yin autora do livro The Art and Science of Animal Behavior, e mostra algumas interacções entre cães e crianças que NÃO devem existir.

I often observe the interaction of children with dogs, often from their own family, sometimes dogs from friends or family … It is scary to see the misinformation that exists between everyone (both family members and the tutors of the animals themselves).It would be very important, and many accidents would be avoided if all the adults who deal with dogs knew the dog’s aggressiveness scale, with the numerous and numerous signs that this gives of discomfort BEFORE growling (yes growling is at the top of the table) as well think about the various behaviors that are in the image.
